August 2010
- Marching Practice:
- 4th: Wednesday, 6pm-8pm.
- 11th: Wednesday, 6pm-8pm.
- If you are in Edison, you must attend.
- Band Camp:
- 16 - 20: Monday-Friday.
- 23 - 25: Monday-Wednesday.
- Band camp runs from 8am-2pm, 5pm-9pm
September 2009 (updates coming soon)
- Practices: All practices are from 2:50pm-6pm unless otherwise specified.
- 4th: Friday,
- 5th: Saturday, (9am-4pm)
- 9th: Wednesday,
- 14th: Monday,
- 16th: Wednesday,
- 18th: Friday,
- 21th: Monday,
- 23th: Wednesday,
- 30th: Wednesday.
- Football Games:
- 11th: Friday, away at Middletown North
- 17th: Thursday, away at Marlboro
- 25th: Friday, home vs. Old Bridge
- Practice is at 3:45 for football games.
- Competitions:
- 12th: Scotch Plains,
- 26th: Piscataway,
- Practice TBA. Both competitions are on Saturdays.
October
- Practices are every Monday and Wednesday of the month, from 2:50pm-6pm.
- Additional practices:
- 9th: Friday, 2:50-6pm,
- 24th: Saturday, 9am-4pm.
- Football Games:
- 2nd: Home vs New Brunswick
- 16th: Home vs North Brunswick
- 23rd: Away vs Monroe
- 30th: Home vs Perth Amboy
- Practice is at 3:45 for football games.
- Competitions:
- 3rd: South Brunswick
- 4th: Homeshow (JPS)
- 10th: Hillsborough
- 17th: Edison
- 25th: NJ States
- 31st: Championships at Allentown, PA
- All competitions are on Saturdays, except for the Homeshow and NJ States, which are on Sundays. Practice TBA.
November
- Practices:
- 9th: Monday, 2:50-4pm.
- 23rd: Monday, 2:50-4pm.
- Football Games:
- 6th: Friday, Away at Woodbridge (Practice 3:45)
- 13th or 14th: Friday or Saturday, Playoffs?? Practice TBA
- 26th: Thursday, Away at Edison (10:30)
Make sure you bring to rehearsal...
- Your instrument
- Your music
- A pencil (or two)
- Water
- Sunglasses or a hat
For band camp...
- Sunscreen
- Lunch (for parents: lunch is always at 11:30)
Uniform
Dos
- Store your uniform in a garment bag on a hanger
- Wear long black socks with your uniform
- Keep straps up at all times
- Tie up any loose hair that would hang out of your shako
- Wear or carry your shako right side up at all times
- Keep your entire uniform on at all times during a game or competition
- Keep your jacket on a hangar while in transit
- Wear light or dark non-clashing shirt under jacket
- Get your uniform dry cleaned if it gets dirty
- Wear everything properly
Don'ts
- Crumble your uniform up in a ball and throw it in your locker
- Wear white socks, short socks, or no socks
- Let straps hang down
- Carry shako by strap or chain
- Use shako as food/beverage holder
- Act disrespectfully
- Get uniform dirty
- Wear shako chain under the chin
